In the 20th century the Van Nelle factory processing coffee, tea and tobacco, which stopped in 1996. Currently it houses a variety of new media en design companies and is known as the Van Nelle Design Factory ("Van Nelle Ontwerpfabriek" in Dutch). Some of the areas are used for meetings and events.

Singapore is one of my favourite cities in the world. There is so much to see and each area is different. This stunning skyline view on the Central Business District is visible from the beginning of the Helix Bridge near the Singapore Flyer, in Singapore.

The famous architect Santiago Calatrava designed the train station Liege-Guillemins in Belgium. The new station, opened in 2009, is made of steel, glass and white concrete.

The entrance hall of this railway station in Antwerp is very impressive. The monumental main building was designed by the Bruges architect L. Delacenserie. It has a huge dome and eight smaller towers of which six were demolished during the 1950s. Fortunately, these were reconstructed in 2009.

The Oslo Opera House is a very abstract en modern building in the center of Oslo. Because of the sloping roofs you can walk to the highest point of the roof for a magnificent view of Oslo and the Oslo Fjord.

POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews is a museum on the site of the former Warsaw Ghetto. The building is opened in 2013 and was designed by Finnish architects Rainer Mahlamäki and Ilmari Lahdelma.
